International Comparison of National Security Council Mechanisms and Its Enlightenment to China

[Abstract]China's central government formally established the National Security Council at the end of 2013. The article summarizes and compares the National Security Council mechanisms in the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia and Japan through the framework of Mission-Operations-Governance (MOG), and analyzes their features and development trends. It proposes that China should take measures to build organizational structures and capacities for the newly established National Security Council and to learn from the experiences of other countries. Policy recommendations were made.
